“Life moves pretty fast. You don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
Ferris Bueller

I certainly feel as though I’ve been missing life lately. I just returned from a business trip to Florida and my hectic work schedule I’ve been keeping is finally slowing down. It really hit me hard when, while in Floriday, I was speaking with my wife on my cell phone and she said, “We miss you.” My mind immediately jumped to wondering who she was with and where she was. “Are you at your parents house?” I said thinking that she meant her and her family. The long pause on the other end was enough to jolt me back to reality. “No,” she said, “I’m at home. I meant Erin and I miss you.”

I can’t think of a better way to start slowing down than to be snowed in this weekend by Mother Nature with no place to go. We’re expected to get 12-18 inches of fresh snow over this afternoon and evening. I’m very much looking forward to snuggling by the fire and watching movies with my family for two whole days.
