Google Earth MacGoogle released the Google Earth Mac Beta last week. Google Earth has been available for the Windows platform for quite some time. Google Earth “combines satellite imagery, maps and the power of Google Search to put the world’s geographic information at your fingertips.”

A few years ago, when actual satellite imagery began to emerge on mapping websites, like MapQuest and GoogleMaps, it was revolutionary. Google Earth brings that technology to an entirely different level.

Some features from their website:

  • Fly from space to your neighborhood. Type in an address and zoom right in.
  • Search for schools, parks, restaurants, and hotels. Get driving directions.
  • Tilt and rotate the view to see 3D terrain and buildings.
  • Save and share your searches and favorites. Even add your own annotations.

No more looking over the shoulders of our PC friends. Google Earth is now on Mac. I know that I am a map nut. I would have loved to have become a cartographer – however they haven’t made a decent wage since Vasco da Gama was sailing around. to learn more and download.
