I can’t believe Abbie is over a month old already. It seems like only a few days ago we brought her home. We had her church dedication last Sunday and had a tremendous turnout from our families. It was wonderful to have Abbie surrounded by so many people who love her, including her big sister Erin. Erin has been SO GOOD with Abbie. She’s gentle and loving, not jealous or harsh. It’s been awesome to see the two of them together.

90’s Prime had our final soccer game last night. We played hard through the driving wind and rain, but came up with a 3-4 loss, preventing us from making the league playoffs. Our season ended with 3 wins, 4 losses and 1 tie. Now, to some that might seem like a fairly meager record, but considering only 1/3 of our team had even played soccer before, and that we only had two pre-season practices, and didn’t have any players who had ever played together… we did amazing. Each game saw major improvement from the week before. Our first two games started out with a sprained ankle, pulled hamstring and concussion, but we got our stride and stayed injury-free the rest of the season. Most importantly, we all had a lot of fun together. That’s what co-ed, casual soccer leagues are for! Oh yeah, we raised a little bit of money for a good cause too.

Saturday night I had the opportunity to attend the 60th Anniversary banquet for my camp, Northern Frontier. I was able to reconnect with some of my favorite people whom I had lost touch with, as well as swim in the innumerable great memories. My relationship with Northern Frontier began in 1984. I was a camper through 1990 and on staff from 1991-1998. I feel fortunate and humbled to have had so many years in such a beautiful and important place.

Work has hit the busy season full-force, as I’m preparing for two upcoming trips. I’ll be in Boca Raton, Florida for a week in December, followed by a week in San Antonio, Texas in January. Busy Busy Busy!
