Who am I? What is weighing so heavily on my mind?
As for who I am, well I suppose you’ll get to know me more with each post. Every post will be a little droplet into “The Knowledge of Me”… sounds like a book title you’d find in the Self-Help section of Barnes & Noble. As for what I have to say that is so important that I was left with no other outlet than to create a blog??? Well, nothing really. Disappointed? It’s okay. This blog isn’t really for you, sorry to say. It’s for me. To borrow a familiar lyric: The Times, They Are-A Changin… and they are! My life is constantly changing. Big changes are coming down the pike very soon and each day holds its own quirky little changes. This blog is for me to express my thoughts on whatever suits me.

What suits me? It would almost be easier to tell you what you will NOT see in my blog…

Politics.
I would almost rather have a first-year dental assistant drilling my teeth blindfolded than to discuss politics. My close friends already know this about me. It is not that politics don’t interest me, quite the contrary. I have quite strong political beliefs on pretty much every issue, from GWB, WMD, IRS, FBI, DNC, GOP, ATF, NATO and all those other silly political acronyms. My opinion is that discussing politics is about as fulfilling as banging my head against a wall. I feel what I feel, you feel what you feel. Okay… well this is my issue to deal with and I won’t bore you anymore with my “why I hate political discussions” rant. If, however, you swing the other way and want to read a political blog, then feel free to stop by my good friend Brandon’s Blog.

You know what, I thought there would be more that I wouldn’t want to discuss in my blog, but I guess that was about it. All else is fair game! Art, Design, Movies, Parenting, Advertising, Sports, Current Events, Dog Training, Technology, Photography…

I mentioned earlier that “Big Changes” are coming. The biggest being that I’m gonna be a dad. Not quite as frightening of a statement as I had once imagined. My beautiful and “wicked smart” wife, Kate, is pregnant with our first child, a little girl. Feel free to check out the site I built for her photos and news in the link column at right.

I think part of my incentive for starting this blog is to record my thoughts and experiences leading up to her birth, so that one day she might be interested in finding out what made her dad so insane.

Handsome devil, eh?I suppose a proper way to begin this blog journey is to introduce myself properly. My name is Kenny. I live and work as an Art Director at a creative marketing agency in New Jersey, USA. I also freelance design on all my free time (ha!) with my personal website www.eicherdesign.com. I am 28 years old and married for almost 5 years to my high school sweetheart. We have a red/rust Doberman Pinscher named Bessie and a blue Dutch rabbit named Millie.

I guess I should talk a bit about my choice of title. Let me break it down for ya…
Abbreviated: Short. My posts, in general, will be much shorter than this one. Little glimpses, gems if you will….
History: I feel as if this blog is a living record of my own history
Contemporary Artist: Is graphic design art? Is it commercial art? Is digital art considered real art? One day I’ll tackle these.
