This time of year is always crazy busy at work. At one point yesterday, it looked like I would be sleeping at the office all weekend long. Stuff wasn’t getting approved by the client that had earlier been approved, so it was getting very frustrating. At some point around lunchtime yesterday, the work gods smiled on me and everything started getting better. Approvals were rolling in, my computer was cooperating, the sun came out and the birdies outside my window began to chirp chirp chirp. We got everything done that needed to get done and we didn’t even have to stay very late in order to do it.

So, instead of sitting at work, I am now in my bed clothes slurping down a bowl of Lucky Charms. If you recall, I was sick last weekend and so I went and bought some comfort food to aid in my recovery. I hadn’t had a box of Lucky Charms since college. It was just as good as I remembered. They changed up the marshmallow shapes a bit, but overall it’s the same cereal. I probably won’t get it again until Erin begs me for it in the supermarket someday. Of course I’d have to sneak the non-healthy cereal beast past mom, but it will be our little Father/Daughter secret.

Big weekend ahead of me. Bessie has a checkup at 11 am. Hopefully we can get the cone off. Her toe infection is looking better but not completely healed yet. After that, I’ll drive Kate and Erin to lunch with some of her friends from college. Not sure what I’ll do during this time, but it may involve a driving range and a jumbo bucket of small white balls. After that, we will go visit with my family. My sister, brother-in-law and nephew are up from Philly for the weekend. This is only the second time they’ve seen Erin. Then tomorrow, Erin is getting dedicated at church. After that, we have a group of about 14 going to brunch in NYC. We have a couple good options, but nobody takes reservations so hopefully we won’t have to wait anywhere.

October came really fast. What happened to summer?

Please help support me in my Walk for Diabetes on October 24th!
