New Blog Design

My wife Kate [cozy blog] likes to poke fun at me and tell me that everything I design I make blue. Although patently untrue, it is easy to see how one can think this. Some of my more well received design work has been based on a color palette of blue and white. I like blue. I like it a lot. It’s a calming color to me.
Just the fact that I know so many people holding undergraduate psychology degrees (though none are practicing…) gives ME the credentials to psychoanalyze myself and conclude that the reason that I tend to lean toward the color blue is because the bedroom in which I spent the first 18 years of my life was blue. My first bike was blue. My first backpack was blue. And, of course, the Yankees are blue and white. Whenever I was asked growing up what my favorite color was, I said “Blue.”
TANGENT: What kind of question is that anyway? Who makes a 3rd-grader declare his/her favorite color in front of the whole class? Can we not teach our children to appreciate the full spectrum of hues in our world – MUST WE PICK ONLY ONE?? I look at the sky and I don’t see BLUE. I see wonderful shades and hues of lavenders, greens, grays and pinks.
Anyhow, what do you think of the new blog design?

I like it! Blue also happens to be my favorite color (although it tends to be a deeper blue), and whenever I come here, I feel calmer. Although, it may be because I have Yo-Yo Ma playing on iTunes. Speaking of Yo-Yo, have you seen the plugin that embeds a little media player in your blog? You could go all Xanga on us and have your blog start playing some of Yo-Yo’s greatest, soothing, mellow hits when we arrive, and in conjunction with the blue color scheme, we might just fall asleep at our desks!
Either way, it’s a nifty layout.

Ken…you look in the sky and don’t see blue? I wish I had asked that question on our trivia game…
Is that a picture of the roof of your new home?
