Claim Your City!
filed in Blogging/Web on Jan.03, 2006
I recently reviewed this blog’s visitor statistics and trends for 2005, so I can better prepare for 2006. What I discovered was that many of my visitors live not only all over the USA, but all over the world. I’m not really sure what it is that would bring someone from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to my blog, besides my natural wit, charm and humor…
Anyhow, I’d like to present you with the list of locations which some of you, my readers, proudly hail from. Since I’m quite sure I only know about 1% of my visitors, this would be a great time for you to identify yourself in the comments. Claim your location and tell me a little bit about yourself!

this is very interesting…we have read your blog for sometime now, your wife is actually on my blogroll although we have never met…i think i came across your blog sometime ago through j-wild’s and brooklyn church plant blogs…my friends shea (weaver) grubbs and jeremy jackson both had links to your blog and we just started reading–it’s crazy now how many blogs i read daily that are written by strangers…my husband enjoys your blog alot because he is in advertising–he especially enjoys the church marketing sucks link, and i love to read your wife’s blog because we have a little guy around the same age as your daughter and seem to have alot of the same interests…i am a stay at home mom, working online towards my M.Ed…my husband and i graduated from ACU and both grew up in Texas…i am hoping for a move sometime in the future–maybe New Jersey?! it looks pretty amazing to live in a place where the leaves change colors…or really where there are even trees!

Estero FL must be me, although my physical address is Fort Myers and locally it’s known as San Carlos Park.
I’m 6’6″ with chiseled abs and sharp handsome features anchoring my 235 pound frame. My super model wife recently turned down for the final time a persistent men’s magazine which has been doggedly pursuing her for an “interview”. My oldest prodigy progeny is about to complete her fifth symphony and anticipates another fabulous art gallery debut to coincide with her latest theatrical release. My youngest recently was named MVP for the third consecutive season in both the WNBA and WUSA, and looks forward to joining her sister in the pop music scene by winning American Idol this season.
OK, mostly none of that is true. Except my wife is beautiful and my kids are the smartest kids I know.
And I’m not 6’6″.

Denver and Aurora would be me!

I’m going to vainly assume that Mexico City is me, however it offends my Costa Grande senses! No estoy chilanga! I’m in Zihuatanejo, GRO, Mexico (a 7 hour bus ride from Mexico City).
Where might you have heard that name before? For the good boys & girls, that would be in “Shawshank Redemption”, it’s the idyllic spot that Tim Robbins & Morgan Freeman escape to. For the bad boys & girls, it’s the site of Timothy Leary’s famed LSD utopia camps. I’d like to think that my reasons for being here are situated somewhere in the middle.
I live in a quasi-treehouse with 3 cats, countless geckos, and two coffee pots. I go to the beach every day and I am affectionately called “Pelona” or “Bald Girl” by the women in the open market. I desperately miss New York City – and all of my friends there! – but living in the tropics ain’t too shabby.

you neglected Buffalo, NY…
January 4th, 2006 on 1:08 pm
I neglected nothing… The city list above is all of the hits to my blog between December 28 – January 3… not since the dawn of man. You just didn’t visit in that time frame, OR your computer’s IP address gets routed through a different city that may be on the list instead of Buffalo.
But since you’re such a great guy Jason, I’ll add Buffalo to my list and consider it claimed. 🙂

San Diego, here!
I work with a faith based organization building homes for the poor in Mexico. My passion is changing lives – hopefully for the better.
Blogging is new to me and really enjoy your blogging.

Seattle!
Hi Kenny. Been a while! Remember me? Not sure if you got my email from this summer or not, but we had our baby boy 12 weeks early, weighing 1# 12 oz, 12 in long. After 70 days in the NICU, we brought him home. I have a different site with a journal that I kept since getting pregnant, but I’d rather email it if you’re interested. Glad to see you 3 are well!

Hey Emily – Thanks for the comment. I don’t remember getting an e-mail about the birth! Congratulations – so glad to hear he’s finally home after so long in the NICU. A link to your new blog would be great, thanks! You can use the contact form on the blog to send it – it’s the same as e-mail.
