PaddlesportMy Canoe-Brain has gotten so bad that I can no longer imagine creative titles to my blog entries. I’ve started using roman numerals. Egads.

PaddleSport 2006 is this weekend. It’s the largest canoe and kayak show on the East Coast and the show which I have been waiting weeks for… And. it’s. Almost. Here. Today is Tuesday and I’m going on Saturday… so that’s only 88 hours from now. Start the countdown!

Alright, I know I’m being a bit silly, but I really am excited about this purchase. I think when you purchase big items like this (house, car, engagement ring, etc…) you really feel better the more you have researched it. You don’t feel like you are being taken advantage of by the seller, or that you were talked into any features or compromises. You know what to expect. You know what you want. You know what it’s worth. You know the price you’re going to pay. It makes it more satisfying in the long run to know without a doubt that you made the best choice you could have.

I already know the specific make, model, material and color canoe I will be purchasing. As well as roof rack. The paddles and PFDs are still up in the air. I have a bit more research to do and may want to talk to some of the experts at the show to finalize my decisions… but heck, I have a full 88 hours to finish my research!

Since I don’t want to give away my canoe choice quite yet, you’ll have to wait until I get it and take some photos.

I have so many canoe and kayak magazines and catalogs laying around the house, whenever Erin sees a picture of a canoe she yells “BOAT!” It’s very cute. I can’t wait to see her in her little PFD.
